Introduction |
---|
After gathering their supplies and equipment, the 4th Motorized Vanatori Regiment evacuated their positions in the Trei Parale Forest and fell back to form a new line at Butea Targ-Doljesti. They hoped to have time to properly set their defenses and to maybe even sleep. The Soviets did not intend to grant them that luxury. |
Conclusion |
---|
The Soviets launched a large-scale attack all across the area, and seemed on the verge of driving the Romanians back from the Butea Targ-Doljesti nexus to the town of Roman nearly 10 kilometers to their rear. However, the timely intervention of some Romanian tanks stemmed the tide and the line held, for the moment. |
