Scenario AFDx036

Germans set up with an AT unit and five platoons in the woods on board 2, with a pair of infantry platoons at the crossroads on board 9, and the balance of troops in the town on board 10. The Finns advanced north up the road and quickly lost a platoon of BT-42s to the 75mm AT unit but some well placed HE fire from the Stu-40's knocked out the German AT gun immediately thereafter. After that the remaining German units on board 6 were eliminated or retreated quickly, allowing the Finns to advance to the center board. The few German units on the center board were quickly eliminated via assault and the Finns moved toward the town on board 10. The town was well defended, but the Finns used the trees as cover to move to better position. They then attacked and both sides lost a number of steps in assaults. In the end the Finns methodically eliminated the Germans and scored a substantial victory but this may have gone the other way with a better German defense and a bit better luck. Well worth trying again.
