Scenario GofB008

A quick and small scenario. At first glance, it looks as though the Germans should have a easy time. They outnumber the Americans by almost 2:1. The Americans set up on the front face of the hill, and the Germans set up south of the city. The first three turns involve the Germans moving through the city to get in position. The Germans set up for the final push on the north edge of the city, and start with artillery barrage on the defenders with little effect. The German right flank starts to advance and close with the single American platoon on the defender's left. The Americans respond with Arty and 81mm fire on the advancing troops and disrupt them. The German center advances to form a firebase to pin the American center. The American right platoon advances against the disrupted German left flank hoping to slow them down. The German right flank becomes demoralized due to American offboard fire, and soon retreats to the city when they cannot rally. The two centers trade fire with no effect. The Germans have a rough time rallying the troops in the city, and the center exchanges are not gaining any ground. As we near turn 9, the Germans advance the center to try and close to assault and move the American center. The Americans respond and disrupt the Germans. As the game ends, the Germans cannot dislodge the defenders from the hill, and the Americans win!
