Scenario AfKo002

On my second go at this Scenario the Australian were able to win. The following were key to their success:

  1. Positioning the British Artillery so it could self-spot but remain out of range of the Italian artillery/mortars.

  2. Concentrating first on destroying the Italian mortars, which, if not destroyed, could eliminate Australian platoons from afar.

  3. Advancing and digging-in during the night so the morning gunfire could at most cause a morale (M2) check.

  4. Staying out of range of 2 HMG nests to avoid their concentrated fire.

  5. Using the British Artillery sparingly. Usually, I tried to first break the Italians with HMG fire. When successful, the Australians would call for the artillery strike to attempt to “finish them off”.
