Scenario LCDT009

A very interesting scenario where it appears that Germans have the firepower and mobility until you execute the mission. The problem for the Germans is they have to cross a river, clear their way through a defended steep ridge and then move across three boards to conduct a river crossing under fire to then take village. In my play, the determined French and Goumiers dug in on the ridge backed by the motorcycle troops. The plan was to fight doggedly for the ridge and the m/c troops would delay the advance west. This is what happened. Although the Germans did finally break the ridge defense, those brave souls did not die in vain. two things hindered the Germans, the French armored cars got blasted by the Tigers and in their deaths created wrecks that made traversing the road up on the ridge difficult and then a hold out French infantry platoon in rocks prevented the German trucks from coming forward. The Germans simply ran out of time by the time they got to western floor and never got near the town. The legionnaires? Well they had cafe-au-lait and croissants in their defense positions and never got to see a German.
