Scenario IN44005

The Strongpoint, being rather isolated from the best of the German defenses/units got taken out early in the scenario. The town, however, was a different story altogether. Seeing as how the remainder of the Germans could form in and around the town, the best that could be done is to attack with full strength units with at least two Co. "stacks" for each attack. By the time all was said and done, the Americans retreated to lick their wounds (to keep them from having to take more step losses). All in all, it was an American victory, but NOT a great one. (Note- fighting in the hedgerow country IS very difficult!)

Yes indeed, very difficult!

I know of multiple players that have chosen to use the standard hedgerow rules, rather than the more difficult "game and special scenario" rules set that come with the game.

After playing it that way for a time in shared mode, it is far easier to switch to the much more involved, Invasion 1944 rules set.

Being the stubborn cuss that I am, I chose to use the "Special Rules" that was set for Invasion 44 game set. The basic reason for that was because the hedgerow terrain WAS so difficult, I figured that I might as well get my craw full of it from the get-go!

Hurrah! Make it harder - good training, Sir!
