Thought it would be easy.... | ||||||||||||

The German forces went for the bulk of the VPs by heading directly for the middle of the battle area, up the road. The British held them off despite the German preponderance of men and material through a slow but steady retreat from just North of the East/West Road on board 33 to the ridge line South of the town on board 27. The Naval Gun Fire finally got in the fight during the third period of availability for it and it helped a bit. The British Commander kept his 17lb back from the initial fray.... but I kept wondering if it would have been better to have it on line earlier in the fight. It was a close run thing, but the British prevailed handily. |
