This was a nasty, almost-balanced, infantry slugfest played over 4 online sessions with the hilarious, but deadly, Treadasaurus leading the Teutonic Horde invading Mother Russia. It would have been way more fun with some Soviet tanks or AFVs, but no such luck. In spite of the crummy batch of leaders that I drew, I managed to hold out almost to the end, but had very poor dice rolls -- 10 combat 7-die rolls in one session! For most of the game it looked like the Russians might win, or draw, this one, but about half way through, the Germans began winning every close assault that they launched and my defense collapsed. The usual early-war Soviet poor morale ratings being hard to overcome and my opponent's late-game, OPLAN was just too good to beat with these lousy troops.
