This was a fun and exciting 3-session battle with the amusing and cunning, Treadasaur playing the godless Soviet horde, that was attacking my defending Spanish line. We played using the FOW, consolidation and excess initiative optional rules. We were surprised by the the number of FOW-shortened turns (14) and the many combat 7-die rolls that we managed to throw (20). The Russians got lucky in their leader draws, and the Spanish were not so lucky. This fact helped the evil Commies much more than the defenders in morale recovery.

This encounter mirrored that historic results and the overwhelming Soviet numbers and better equipment prevailed in this 25-turn, very costly fight. It almost turned into a draw in the 18th game turn when both sides suffered senior leader decapitations.
