Scenario DeRa024

This one is far more balanced than the previous fortified hill scenarios and actually has a point to playing. Germans with low morale are dug in on a small hill, with the key to their defense being an 88 battery protected in the center. They will eventually get some armor reinforcements on the field, but if the NZ player is able to make enough headway into the low morale German position, they won't matter.

Germans risk a x3 HMG stack on the northeast outcrop of the hill seeing as it is dug in and it will be a secondary target after the 88. The 37s are on the northern shoulder, while the 81s are in the back. Ringing the hill are INF.

NZ onboards and heads up the road, seeing as they are in limiting terrain back then... And advance largely out of sight. This lets them bring their Brens up to be in a position to support the INF advance once the 88 is suppressed, willing to risk some shots from the 37s. The valentines advance adjacent to the HMG stack, to bait out an 88 shot and allow OBA to do its job.

88 is able to knock out a step of Valentines at the expense of a spotted marker, adn OBA is able to disrupt it. With this the brens move into position and the INF start getting ready once the HMGs are softened up. The Valentines fire in and get some Disruptions while the Germans get some OBA results themselves.

With the HMG softened up, the INF moves in, but the 88 wakes back up and starts hitting the Valentines again. Mated with a good op fire roll, and OBA attrition throughout the game, step loss limit is hit. NZ methodically takes down the hill before the armor arrives but take too many losses, and it ends in a draw.

A couple different rolls could have ended it for the NZ win, but unless you wipe all the German leaders, all the untouchable OBA over the course of the long turn limit will tend this towards a draw.
