Leyte 1944, Scenario Thirty-Six: The Last Airfield

The Japanese put together one last attempt to take the worthless airfield from the Americans with what is left of their 2nd Raiding Brigade of Paratroopers and remnants of the 16th & 26th Infantry Divisions. The Americans defend with some rear-area units as well, all at night in a chaotic battle. The Americans have three victory objectives and the Japanese must try and deny them of these. One small errata, the Americans setup first!

In this confused night battle, the Americans achieved two out of three of their victory objects but is was close to going the other way a couple of times. The only thing they couldn’t do was keep all the Japanese good order units four hexes away from the airfield. A Minor American Victory!
