We've done the Bulge before so I was casting about a bit on ribbon inspiration. Working backwards:

  • These colors are sampled from the shield of Vleteren, which...
  • is the home of the Westvleteren Brewery, which...
  • brews the world famous Westvleteren XII beer, which...
  • is often named in discussions of the world's best beer, and...
  • is certainly the best beer in Belgium, which...
  • is the location of this supplement's battles, and finally...
  • there is a PG-HQ Brew Thread in the forums started by none other than the recipient of this award, so if you'd like to continue on this topic meet him there!

Ok? :-)

Very nice, Shad. To the Site, my suggestion had been the flag of Stavelot (blue; white; yellow), but this is very sharp and I like the red/black hint of Germany. Thanks for your work on this (and for the personal note! Hic!).

I have to put on my professor hat for a moment, however, and point out, dear Leader, that 3+18+10 = 31, not the 30 in the supplement. My tally is

Germany: 18 (10) America: 9 (9) Draw: 3 (1)

With the parenthetical numbers the tally for Scenarios 11-30 (those early Kampfgruppe Peiper scenarios went the SS's way for the most part).

Off to the brew pub ... well, actually, to give a pchem exam. :-(

Congrats PY, along with your promotion! Perhaps we can get a skype play in sometime from here in Deutschland. -Brett N.

I don't usually get these wrong so I took a closer look. :-)

According to the database you played Scenario 6 twice mate! Once with a German win and once with an American win. Looking back at the AAR you posted, maybe you meant to edit/delete the original record but submitted a new one instead?

^ Yep, I must have done something wrong: the first sentence in my AAR is "Firstly, apologies are due as I made an error with the victor with my original play." Ok, I admit, it was all part of a deep seated plan to set Shad's statistics awry! :-)

Brett (and Vince) re: Skype. I don't even like having my picture taken so Skype is something of a taboo to a Luddite like myself. :-) But thanks.
