Question  Consolidation (17.1) and Dug-In status
Another quick question for the vets out there:

If two half-strength units that start in the same hex under a Dug In marker consolidate into one full strength unit of their same type, they end their activation for the turn and are covered by a MOVED/FIRED marker. But do they lose their Dug In marker?

Thank you.

RE: Consolidation (17.1) and Dug-In status
GKZ,

I have never used the consolidation rules. One of the optionals that I have never been too keen on. Funnily enough for the same reason as yourself expressed re OoB's and chain of command. I don't think two damaged platoons would knit nicely enough in the span of a game to be as cohesive as the original platoons they belonged to. .... Anyway, thats mere opinion and others disagree, so to your Q.

I'd say they would still be dug-in. They were both dug-in before and in the same hex. Therefore, it seems that they have simply unified local command rather than position and will hold the same dug-in position.

I never use consolidation either, but if I did I'd let them remain dug in.
