Dragging Weapons....

Dragging Weapons....
Sometimes you just have to do it....
So an INF unit spends a turn to drag a gun....

It gets shot at...
Now, it's not a transport---but....
If the INF is Disrupted or Demoralized....??

One clarifying issue is that for DF and BF a Weapon of any kind has a column shift...
So any X is going to happen on the GUN FIRST (this was result of discussion ... I think it's indisputable, sadly...)...
any additional X start to hit the INF...
But the result of a Disruption or Demoralization of the INF will have to be spread to the Gun, even after the Gun
takes it's own checks....
The assets of the battery have been distributed to the INF sections and they are both carrying all that stuff and
dragging the gun....if they get Disrupted...the Gun does too....

Anyone disagree?....that's how we should play it, me thinks.

RE: Dragging Weapons....
Since the rules do not say that the INF and gun are treated as one unit, as in the case of a transport and passenger. Nor does it say and effect on the gun would share the same result as the INF, again as with a transport. And as you noted, step losses are applied separately according to the split column rule. So, I say morale results are also separate.

RE: Dragging Weapons....
So the reason this showed up (and I missed pointing this out) was OP on the weapon being dragged....

So---they MOVE AS A UNIT as they drag.....and if you shoot at them who are you shooting at? the Personnel Unit (+1 for moving) or
the Weapon (+1 for being a WPN)....and if either is hit, taking step/demoralized/disrupted---how is the other unit impacted?
Shoot at the Weapon?
Shoot at the Inf?

not quite so clear...

RE: Dragging Weapons....
I  think the shot is at both, but at affected individually.

RE: Dragging Weapons....
So you're saying the OP fire---at one moving unit is at the INF, and the Gun suffers?
How does an OP fire attack two units unless they are somehow moving as One--combined? Loaded? dependant?
'tis a conundrum....

Think of it more as what happens when a leader moves with a unit.
