UNPLAYABLE SCENARIOS
Noticed today, in checking out some Thomas 827's replays, that the AAR file lists the scenario as unplayble!!

Thomas must be one heck of a player. :-0

RE: UNPLAYABLE SCENARIOS
If you can give me an example, I can try to sort it out. So many scenarios mention an earlier book or expansion and I have several later expansion versions that still show the scenario as unplayable while a later version gives me everything I need, but no way to show it.

On the scenario page itself, in the boxed area for scenario requirements, in the left third of the box, its says unplayable, written in large diagonal letters, in bright red on a white background.

Maybe one of the ASL crew at Multiman is hacking the PG site !!!

Larry,

The Library checks "your" collection to see if you can play the scenario that you are looking for. Since your collection doesn't currently include either An Army At Dawn or Korean War: Pusan Perimeter, the scenario shows as "unplayable" for you. When I go there, since my collection does include those products, the "unplayable" banner does not show.

If you do have the products make sure to add them to your collection in your profile by checking the box next to the product.

This kind of situation can easily occur if you have a playing partner who has the game and you play them on their game. You end up with a play on a scenario that is "unplayable" for you. God forbid anyone borrows a game and logs the plays, right?
No "minor" country left behind...

Thanks. I was beginning to think I was going blind now. Smile An old Army friend quit playing board games some years ago because he can't see the numbers and info on the counters, and is too vain to get glasses years after his Lasik surgery has quit helping due to "normal aging", whatever the heck that is (outside of being what the doc tells me is behind all the crap happening to the wife and me).

RE: UNPLAYABLE SCENARIOS
I was legally blind until I was 15 or so. It did not stop me from playing wargames using a strong magnifying glass and guessing the combat values if I could not read them (2, 3, 5, and 8 were very hard to read depending on the font).

I see much better these days - 40/20 corrected vision - but I still use a magnifying glass to read the leader's modifiers, especially if there are in a triangle. I am sure I do some misread from time to time but I just equate to the fog of war.

I send usability feedback to several companies/designers and most take them into consideration and sometimes even act on it.

RE: UNPLAYABLE SCENARIOS
The one thing my friend will admit to is his colorblindness. I once tried to introduce him to ASL when it first came along, and one setup note said to set up on the hill in hex x. He asked me what hill since he couldn't see the colors they were done in. Mostly, I think it is an excuse for him and not a reason.
