Works for me....

The elevation advantage for Assault defenders is removed if not all attackers are from a lower elevation.

Any Cavalry charging provides a +1 column shift in any Assault combat (Caveated {I would propose} with the
   terrain limitations discussed in another post....certainly Woods/Jungle/Town...Light woods/Orchards, not so much ??)
