Off Board Artillery
I keep reading rule 9.2, and i keep getting 'each increment may fire once PER turn'

So, if a scenario says a side gets 6*16 ... they may fire 6 increments each turn. not 6 increments total?

i keep thinking the rule is clear - so this may be a dim witted question
but i felt i had to check as its a lot of OBA rounds in a 36 turn scenario!

RE: Off Board Artillery
If a side "gets" 6 x 16 (for instance), that means he gets 6 x 16 (sized) units that he can use for OBA. In the mean... these units can only be used three units at a time. So... if one wishes to fire all 6 units, he fires three in one turn/increment and the other three in the next increment/turn. At least that's the way I play it.

RE: Off Board Artillery
Yes, that's pretty much correct. Granted, 216 OBA increments landing in a 36 turn game may seem like a lot, but how is that different from having 6 105mm batteries sitting on the corner of the map for 36 turns?

Just remember, no more than 3 increments may be fired at a single hex at a time, though you may activate all your OBA at the same time.

so, so long as targets are spotted - and so long as no more than 3 increments on a single target, once can use 6 increments every turn?

clarifying as i read one reply as saying 6 increments total (and only 3 in a turn) and another two replies as 6 per turn with the only restriction being 3 per target max

RE: Off Board Artillery
The rule reads all can be activated, but only 3 applied to any single hex per activation.

If you were firing on-board BF, you could put more onto a single hex
In a single activation....

There was discussion about this within last year?

Only 3 in a target hex in one activation. So, as Craig said, all 6 increments can be used in one activation. So if all 6 are are activated, that could be 3 on hex A, and 3 on hex B. Also could be 3 on hex A, 1 on hex B and 2 on hex C. Or you could have 3 on hex A in one activation and 3 on hex A again in a later activation.

Keep sending questions and comments in. It helps all of us who read them to review the sometimes confusing and fiddly rules, and how they are interpreted from time to time to time.

There are NO dumb questions in either PG, or baseball.
