GG Not really.
The original point, in this now-lengthy thread, is that German STGs and Jagdpanzers WERE activated by both their OWN "tank leaders" and also local Kampfgruppe commanders - usually Wehrmacht infantry officers. Our house rule is historically correct and a useful addition, as an optional rule, IMHO.
No one is saying that any player must use it.

Yikes! This dialogue is reminescent of the line from the movie, Emma:
"You have taken a small idea and run wild with it!"
The suggested house rule that the T-Rex posited is for turretless, self-propelled, German STGs and Jagdpanzer vehicles, ONLY. That would include the Marder, Hetzer, Nashorn and JgdPZ-I-V series.
This thread seems to indicate that self-propelled, Soviet, US, Italian and British assault guns need a separate treatment, especially the ones with turrets like the M-10, M-18 and M-36. It makes no sense to lump all these types together under the suggested house rule for the German side, IMHO.
