And I was spotted before the Smoke...
So, spotting being a current thing....

We have a situation where a unit in a village has been spotted (they fired out).....
normally, as they remained in place, they would remain spotted even if they did not fire during a turn....

BUT---some clever player dropped smoke in front of them....blocking the LOS of any enemy unit (all enemy
would be the condition) that can see that hex....
SO---DOES THE SPOTTING MARKER disappear?

The unit did not move----but the hex/unit is obscured by the smoke for at least one turn?

Not sure if they would be spotted again---when smoke clears? or not?
didn't think about this until it happened...

RE: And I was spotted before the Smoke...
8.22 answers this: "...OR is outside the enemy LOS..."    So, the spotted marker should come off if there is no other LOS path from an enemy unit to the hex.

Clever use of defensive smoke, which is thing you know.   "We're under heavy fire, drop smoke in front of our position."  Then the leader tuns to his troops once the smoke falls: "OK boys reposition and keep your heads down."

It's not rocket science, a "spot" is a "spot", until one's LOS is blocked. Fifteen minutes later; voila! The little buggers disappeared! So let it be written.... So let it be done.
