So Who is a Recon? - cjsiam - 09-03-2025
I want to get some closure on what is considered RECON in PG....at least the RAW definitions...
From what I can find, Armored Cars and Infantry specifically designated(I&R and RCN) as such.
I'm wondering about Cavalry and Motorcycles?....as a "Class" are they considered recon?
The RAW specifically do not call them out. In reference to the Scenario Books which discuss them,
there is discussion of dismounting (did you know you can dismount from motorcycles, move through road blocks, then spend 2turns remounting? I didn't)
but no designation of them as RECON capable
But, I see no reference to providing Recon capabilities to these "Classes" of units?
Now---does it make sense? Should they be considered Recon? or is their recon capabilities something "less" then what "RECON" units (4squares/designation) can
do in the game?
Thoughts?

Your answer is in the last part of your last sentence. It is a case if it it ain't, they isn't. If they aren't designated as recon (in the rulebook or a GSR/SSR) they isn't recon.
