I will be playing a PG game this Sunday (June 8) at a local wargame club meeting (Washington DC area). We are having 3 people playing the game. Any suggestions for a scenario playable by 3 people?

Thanks.

If you have the time for a 30-turn large game and at least one of the players is facile vis-a-vis the rules and play, then the classic Scenario 22 (St. Vith: the Fall) from ER might work well. Specifically, have the more experienced player take the Germans and split the US defense between two players with one commanding the units originally placed on the northern boards (24 and 25) and the other the southern boards (22 & 23). This way, even should the German player concentrate the attack axis on the northern or southern E/W road, both US players can fully contribute throughout the scenario (no movement restrictions on the US once the Germans enter the board).

It is a scenario from a commonly owned boxed game (no other pieces required) and is well-vetted for being an excellent scenario. And, I think, the two US players would feel equally engaged (VP hexes on boards controlled by each US player). Minimal SSRs (no aircraft, hidden units, etc., just decreasing visibility and random snow event). Lastly, would also be convenient to set the players at the table: German to the East, US #1 to the North; and US #2 to the South.

Slowing the Juggernaut from Romanian Soil also comes to mind (German + Romanian vs. Soviet), but that requires boards and pieces from multiple games.
It is a ton of infantry without any armor but Eastern Front #68: National Socialist Ardor (one of several named this) is actually well suited to 3 player as the Axis player has a large force of German and Romanian troops against a strong Soviet defender. The one AAR on the scenario suggests its use as a three player scenario.

It is, however, long at 40 turns.
Road to Berlin-Seelow: The South Flank could work. It ends up being two battles along two roads on opposite sides of the map. You could break it up so 2 either attack (more units) or defend.

The other Seelow battles might be the same setup so worth checking out and picking one with the best combo of units/turns.

Have fun!

What did you end up playing and how did it go?

Rich,

I ended up playing 2 person game of PG Kursk, South Front, Scenario 1 Berezov Bound. We both enjoyed playing it. I was the Russians. It was tight game, but the Germans seemed to be getting the upper hand towards the end.
The third guy did not show up. However, we did generate some interest with some fellow wargame club members asking some questions about the PG system.
