Another new Skyper trod the boards today as Nebelwurfer9 (Brett) and I got together for a first session of # 41 from desert Rats. I think he enjoyed it and I'm sure he'll chime in here.

Its quite a body of 'men' that is making up the club meaning there are good chances of at least somebody being available at all different times.

Look forward to our next sesh Brett
Very good, another one to see the light of fun with PG and Skype.
Welcome to the fray, Nebelwerfer9!
I am playing a Airborne - IE against Emperor Nero over Skype and VASSAL.
Thanks all, it truly was an entirely new experience! Not just with skype but with my first actual shared play. Vince enlightened me a lot on some rules that I may have misunderstood or interpreted differently. I have been plugging away a lot of solo plays the last 9 months and am almost caught up with my past plays (only 4 more 'Afrika Korps' ones to key in) but now I am definitely ready for more shared engagements. I think Vince and I have about two more sessions left with this 'Desert Rats' scenario, if I am that lucky with the British forces! I believe that I will be up for at least one shared play a month, possibly two. Unfortunately I am running out of unplayed scenarios and will have to get a new boxed set in the next month. Most likely it will be Eastern Front as there are 112 scenarios in it and it is one that just about everyone else owns.

At the moment I have 3 unplayed 'Desert Rats' scenarios (#39,42, and 49) open along with 8 from 'South Africa's War' (#6,8,11,12,17,18,19 and 20) if anyone would like to set a skype play up in advance with a weeks notice. If I am able to get Eastern Front that will free up 2 more from SAW and open up more possibilties as I actually have enough space to play those with the smaller maps which are easier to manipulate with a modest playing area. The only potential problem could be the time zone as I am in Germany. With Vince that is not a problem as there is only an hour's difference from here in Düsseldorf to London. But if someone were based in, let's say California then there would be a 9 hour difference.

Anyway, I would like to thank Vince again for being very patient and helpful with getting every thing set-up and running and everyone else for their support. This is a great site and looking forward to many more months, if not years of PG!

If anyone is interested in future shared plays via skype then feel free to PM me here or send an e-mail to: nebelwurfer9@gmail.com

I am loving VASSAL and PG in general! It's easy once you get the idea of it, but there is some minutiae that is difficult to grasp. I haven't moved into the super advanced rules yet and I have yet to use armor, but Daniel is a great teacher. If only I had less school work and less things that get in the way of my sessions, haha. i think I've caught the PG bug.
