I figure it might be a nice idea to individually buy Shad some toys for Christmas, since Dr. B. isn't shipping review copies to China anymore. All we need is 1. a mailing address 2. a list of any "political" restrictions that might cause embarassment..ie would wargames including the Japanese in WW2 be unpopular for the postal and customs authorities 3. a bulletin board to list what's going, so as to reduce duplication.

(Notice, I can start threads if I use my webtv at home, but not my Windows 97xp Professional system at work)
The problem with your work PC is that there is no such thing as Windows 97, you must have some mutant Chinese software installed Wink

I deeply appreciate the offer, Larry, but to be completely honest any games sent my way would just go up on the shelf and start collecting dust.

I mean of course I'd first punch and clip all the counters and gleefully roll around on them like a hound dog on a rotten carcass, but after that they'd just get packed up.

My game table has been repurposed as the family PC workstation, and my Man Cave has been captured by my 1.5yo.

Any gaming now would have to be over VASSAL or a very small/quick affair that I could set up, play out, and knock down in a couple of hours.

I am actually seriously considering sacrificing the sanctity of a game's maps and counters and going the pin-it-to-the-wall route with one of my boxed games...

Horrifying as it may seem, we're talking damaging a game worth only $20~30 second hand with the outcome that it could actually be played at leisure... replacing it later with an "unholy" ( Rolleyes ) copy would be a minor affair.

In summary, the best gift you can give me, my friend, is to keep using and promoting PG-HQ!

Maybe someday I'll get around to making those PG-HQ coffee mugs or custom PG-HQ dice I've been daydreaming about, at which time you are welcome to buy several sets Big Grin , but for now, thanks but no thanks. Blush
No games for Shad!!

No distractions until the Library is completely done!!! Big Grin

Seriously, I'd also like to thank Shad for all he's done. If there is anything we can do, let us know.

This is an excellent site, I thank Genesteeler for telling me about it.

Ah yes, that would be my PDF DIY edition of the Battle of Singapore. At a typical British platoon strength of 28 men, that puts 3000 British counters and another 1200 or so Japanese counters in the PDF for you to make yourself.

Then, having printed, pasted, and cut out your 4,200 counters you carefully array all the Japanese counters on your game table, throw all the British counters into a rubbish bin, and go play something else. Tongue hehe
And you could rate it a '5' for all that !
I know Andrew would love that pallet worth of that games called Airplane or something similar AP found in their warehouse a few years ago! Smile
Andrew:

Next time you are in the States on the East Coast (somewhere or another) let me know. It would be great to get together without electrons in the way...
