T would roll M2 before displacement. The M2 roll could cause the leader to desert or flee. He could die by double demoralization rolls. In other words, if the leader is already demoralized and he rolls a an adjusted +3 result (I say adjusted because there can be other leaders in the stack affecting the morale.) he could be eliminated.
I also think there is a possibility of capture before displacement and Peter appears to back me up. He suggests rolling a die to find out whether the leader is captured, but does not give specific details about the die roll. That part is open for discussion.
