That's my job!  Big Grin

But I've made my purchase regardless. If they're not in there, I just break open my Golden Journal...
Guys, I did include 4-armor shermans in the design. On purpose !

My only point was that you cannot take minute graphical details from APL as definitive. If you could, the Bundesheer is going to have a super-armored APC, and the New Zealanders recruited their rear-echelon troops from Japan.

I am not sanguine as to a Sherman AV of 4, on a systemic level. On the other hand, I also think a lot of Allied equipment (particularly later-war western Allied) is under rated. By the time wet storage becomes standard in Shermans, the the units should be more survivable.

Of course, now it is in the hands of the developers.

Leonard,

Pardon the minor detour of the thread, but how do the Battlegroup Peiper scenarios in Ardennes compare with Winter Soldiers (essentially scenarios 1 - 14)?  The maps will be different, of course, but how many of the actual actions overlap?

Thank you,

PY
Ardennes '44 cover almost every action by the 1st SS Pz Div (not just KG Peiper) and neighbour units (Volkgren, Fuhrer Begleit brigade, 9 SS Pz div, 150 Pz Brig) along Rollbahn D & E from Losheim to the Ambleve and Salm rivers area. A lot of published scenarios have been based on some of these actions but you won't probably recognize them because of much more detailed order of battle, different set up and very different terrain.
One third of the scenarios is devoted to the US counterattack, in January, along exactly the same roads but through awful weather and deep snow.
Now that I see the American Sherman tanks (AV) armor value being increased from 3 to 4 on the new Ardennes 1944 game, I believe The Soviet SU85 (AV) should also be raised from 3 to 4. Also the Soviet JSU152 (ATF) anti-tank factor should be increased from 5 to 6 in my opinion.

This came to mind after playing a scenario from Broken Axis earlier today.
Use Shermans with a 3 for 1942-3 and Shermans with  4 for 1944-5.  The latter ones would be the wet stowage Shermans that increased survivability by severely reducing ammunition fires.
Ardennes 1944, I am excited to this this game released.
