I just for Afrika 1944. It calls for

The counter appeared in Desert Rats. I thought AOI used the counters from Afrika Korps.
Don't have my copy with me so can't check, but the last paragraph (More Tanks!) of a Daily Content Article (Italian Pieces, Part 2) has:
Quote:The first printing of Africa Orientale Italiana used the small stockpile of sheets of playing pieces left over from our old, long out-of-print Desert Rats game. So there are lots of extra tanks included in these copies: M13/40 and M14/41 medium tanks, P26/40 heavy tanks, and Semovente 47/32, 75/18 and 90/53 self-propelled artillery.

AOI seemed an odd call in Afrika 44. Figuring out where those particular counters originated was a little perplexing. I have the counters for the game, just never got AOI. I suppose now I should think about improving my vector drawing of the P26.

Thanks everyone.
I hope at some point, may be when game components are out of print, Mike decide to make available for puchase the scenario booklet as a stand alone for purchase

I would like that. I have all the components for AOI from previous games. I just couldn't see my way to buying another boxed game where the only thing was the scenario book.
Grrr...

I picked up Afrika 1944 but I have Conquest of Ethiopia instead of AOI so I'm missing those "extra" counters. I really wish all the late war Italian units had come with A44. I could live without motorcycle platoons but I'm not really happy about having to buy a full game I already own the maps for just to get counters that aren't even used in it.

Also just curious - are the counter sheets in AOI updated with the Step Loss line on the back or are they literal extras/reprints of old counter sheets?
You can still download some of the tanks here, but those are already in the Afrika counter mix.
The P26/40 and Semo 90 counters are going to take even more DIY skills. I don't have a good vector drawing of those vehicles yet.
