I am looking for, or even wondering if, what the Italian army's emblem may have changed to after the armistice. I made counters for the Esercito Nazionale Repubblicano to fight in their own colors (only 2? scenarios). The Italian Co-belligerent Army makes more appearances, so I think they need their on counters too. I haven't been able to find an emblem for them. All I found so far is the blue shield of the Corpo Italiano di Liberazione. That emblem is a little busy, and appears rather late in the timeline. Does anyone know of any others? I had thought of the kingdoms shield (without the crown), but that isn't really the army. Undecided
Ottavio is a PG-HQ, his handle is Otto. It might be worth emailing him the question because he's been a good source of information in the past.
Oh, I expect him to pipe-up sometime. If not this week, I'll send him an email.

Nothing really exiting. Very close to the usual Italian kinngdom flag with the Savoia coat of arms.
Okay, how is this? Reduced infantry counter:

The shield is from the Italian Kingdom flag. The green is and shade is the same as the Ariete division download. I put up the reduced counter so the reduction stripe would be visible.

Leadership was a little more complicated. Here is a captain:

I stuck with the army's grenade for a couple reasons. It is still on the Italian Defense Staff coat of arms, representing the army. Secondly, it is what is used in the scenario books, so less confusion. I made it gold to differentiate it from the Fascist aligned army and because that is color in the coat of arms.It also stands out better against the green.

I intend some armor counters to those already used in the game. Semo 105s, M15/42, Semo 75/34, ect. Mostly am thinking about St. Paul's Gate at the moment.
Too much like the Swiss flag? (or Danes)?
The Swiss have a lot more red in their flag and coat of arms. Danish flag has a thinner cross. The coat of arms shield has red and gold horizontal stripes. I expect that anyone who get around to making those counters is going to use a different base color. Is there something going on at APL that we might see soon?
They look pretty also the colour, but bear in mind that on july 1944 the Italian army was withdrawn from the front and did not go back into action until april 1945. At that time it had british uniforms, weapons and organization. So no "old times" tanks.
I know that too. It was right after the Battle of  Filottrano. When I flesh out the set, there would also RIF, WPN, 3-inch, ect., just like a British infantry unit.

I am a little disappointed about the blue not being very visible. Maybe a different background color or a highlight ring. Undecided
It is taking shape:

Any glaring omissions? (Bersagiari for the Ariete II division?)
