Just ordered Afrika 1944.  I've had DAK 44 for at least a decade, but new scenarios on different maps drew me in.  Not so obsessive with Orietale, since it sounds like this is Desert Rats scenarios plus South Africa's war scenarios combined with a second copy of the Conquest of Ethiopia maps.  Buying the same maps over and over again...the remastered Eastern Front Deluxe map set used in Fire in the Steppes will be used in Empires Fall (which I bought 11 years ago) just seems too painful.  I understand that this is not financially the best year for Avalanche, and maintain 140 separate map panels in stock is an impossible task ( the solution is allowing some products to go permanently out of print).  This solution works for new customers, but not so much for 20 year grognards.
      Rant mode off.
I hear you. I was really close to pulling the trigger on Orientale, but looked at the stack of unfilled orders that I have from AP and decided not this time. I already have the maps and the units anyhow, and it might have been nice if Dr. Mike had just offered the monograph separately for those of us that have all the game materials on hand.
He probably had to take a guess at how many folks have both Desert Rats & South Afrika's War and Conquest of Ethiopia.  The numbers don't add up.
With the naval upgrades all you need is the base game...hence Cruiser Warfare, Bismarck, Eastern Fleet upgrade packages.
My experience is it was difficult to pass on a game the first time but it quickly became easier as the need to have a complete collection was no longer present.

I even started selling a few games on topics of less interest to me.
