I played a scenario from Aachen, had fun with that one. Looking up a scenario to set up now. Looks like Invasion of Germany, Filling the Gaps
Was the title of the thread a reference to Ty Bomba's fun game that appeared in a S&T magazine 30 years ago?

I liked it at the time and re-acquired a copy last summer.

I'll be interested in how you like Saipan retiredgrunt17?

Cool

I played scenario 1 of Saipan. Really, really good game. I thought I found a way around the beach defenses, but the Japanese OBA was really tough on the amphib forces. The Amtrak’s are great for fire support, but against any AT fire they are so fragile. OBA managed to get some hits on them too and that didn’t go well either. Great addition though.
I am happy you enjoyed that scenario!
Room for maneuver combat, but the assaults get really nasty. The Japanese infantry have the +1 modifier. Can be a real ball breaker

Well Saipan's on my list, Kokoda, Burning Tigers, Broken Axis, Army at Dawn, CounterAttack, etc., etc. Whaddya mean AP s in trouble? Maybe they can sign with the new Toys R Us.
