3rd Ed rules. Smoke... 16.1

16.11 Procedure

For each unit or offboard artillery factor firing smoke, the owning player designates a spotted target hex within
range and rolls two dice. On a result of 8 or less the firing player places a smoke marker in the target hex. On any
other result he doesn't.

If someone has 3 oba factors, can you call in 3 hexes of smoke on the same AS?
Rich,

No they can not.

3 x OBA can be used together under 9.3 for COMBINING ARTILLERY. Otherwise, if firing at different hexes they activate seperately.
Rich, do you mean spreading 3 factors from one  battery, or 3 batteries?  In either case I defer to Vince.
If you had 3x16 for oba. The way 16.1 reads it sounds like you could call smoke into 3 hexes using all 3x16 factors.

And hi Vince! Nice to see you are still around. Smile
I'm with Vince on this. To hit three separate hexes with smoke you would need three activations.

Rich,

Always willing to answer Q's when available, even if I'm out of the playing PG loop. Smile
Yes, yes Vince I believe you. By the way, can we schedule a Skype game over the Christmas holidays?

Thanks! I was going to make a crack about your opinion being worthless because you don't play any longer.  Tongue

I figured it was going to be one per AS but figured I'd check. I'm going to find myself playing a 4.0 game using 3.0 rules. The game allows all OBA to fire smoke. That's going to be different.
