Yes, probably of French origin. The Japanese also bought the 13.2 mm AA MGs (twin) to the French.

Hey Jay, In scenario 11, Guam 41, the Daihatsu are to be captured by the end of the game by the Americans and Guamanian troops for (10) VP's , how is "capturing" achieved? Instead of the Daihatsu's being eliminated in an assault they are "captured" instead? can they fire when they are empty and on the beach? Please Help

Great question Nick! Some where the developer changed that, but obviously you can't capture a Daihatsu that has a dire fire value, so for all purpose it is captured/eliminated through combat and once they beach they can not move again per special rule #6 in that scenario only, so they can be destroyed/captured through direct fire or assault combat.

They must be eliminated would be the only thing that makes sense.
