Which is why I am glad I am ordering Saipan on this round. Also getting the Luxemborgers as well.

Jay - would any of these scenarios be a good intro scenario for a new player? I reviewed the plays of them but until I get the game, I am not certain.

I ask because the person I am looking to introduce prefers Pacific WW2 rather than ETO, though he is not a wargamer. I think the attractiveness of the maps plus the new edition rules and aids should help in that respect.

Tony, there are lots of short (14 turns or less) and tiny (<40 pieces) scenarios in Saipan than are very appropriate for beginners. I would suggest you let your friend take the Americans because they are stronger and generally more straightforward to play.

Thanks, Daniel. I figured that it would be more appropriate that way. The historical society of our town here is having a "historical" games day at the local rec center at the beginning of April and I was going to bring one of my PG games there.

This one might fill the bill and who knows, it might also get me a few more opponents.

Interesting story, thanks for sharing. There are many more missing on Saipan, I think about 326 on Saipan.
