Rivers and Morale and activation
So in this brutal scenario....the Russians are trying to force two Bridgeheads.....

As it has developed a Russian officer has gotten over the Major river, he's on the West side.
There are Russian Infantry units on the EAST side.....

You can put units in the same hex, approaching the river from opposite sides...
Clearly they don't get to magically transport across the river---
BUT....
If the officer is on the river(the west side of the river) and the infantry are in theĀ
same hex, or adjacent hexes, on the East side----

Can the Officer Activate them?
We have been playing that he can....
They can then move along the river on the East side, not crossing until they get to a bridge....
But the officer can activate them and help with Morale/recovery as he is in 1hex proximity---though on other side of river.

Thoughts?

RE: Rivers and Morale and activation
I think (technically) he can. Realistically I doubt he could activate adjacent units on the other side of the river, though I expect he could in the same hex.
... More and more, people around the world are coming to realize that the world is flat! Winking

Yes

Yes

Rivers do not affect a leader's ability to activate units and lower rank leaders, nor do they prevent a leader from helping for morale checks and recovery.
