Ugly combat returns
With the soon coming return of Sword of Israel , those of us who have been complaing about unchallenging battlefields will have the opportunity to fight on two of the toughest maps in the system.  SoI maps are not in the library yet because of the Shad Dictum...no data files until there are at least two boxed games in each expansion.  I nominate maps 67 and 69 for the toughest battlefields in the system.  Map 69 has 24 hexes of 1 to 3 hex towns, 25 hexes of sand dunes,  18 rough terrain hexes, and a large hill complex.  Map 67 is dominated by a large 120 meter hill complex.

RE: Ugly combat returns
These 8 maps were designed for use with 1967 era equipment, far more lethal and flexible than any of the 1940's era armies. Most of them feature more difficult terrain to traverse and much shorter lines of sight. Try using map 69 to represent the terrain on the approach to the Caspian oilfields in 1942, or the Africa Korps at the outskirts of Cairo after their decisive victory at Alam Halfa ridge.

RE: Ugly combat returns
Yes, I remember playing on these maps a few years ago and find them very challenging for either side to maneuver on.
