JgPz IV .NE. jadgpanther

Scenario Three

Guderian's Ducks
10 June 1944
With British armor on the prowl yesterday, General Bayerlein pinpointed Ellon as the best place to meet any future incursions. However, on the field the commander disregarded orders and not only left the victorious grenadiers in Ellon but brought up his new JagdPanthers, fancifully referred to by the troops as Guderian's Ducks. Mounting the Panther’s effective L/48 75mm gun and standing only a tad over 6 feet tall it, the Jagdpanzer IV was a fearsome defensive weapon.

Complete confusion.  The JagdPanther is the JgPz V, not the IV.  And the Panther did not mount the 75mm L/48 gun.  What is true is that the first production runs of the JgPz IV mounted the PzIVH's 75/L48.  Later models (produced by Vomag beginning in Aug '44 c.f. Bradford, German Late War Armored Fighting Vehicles) then mounted the 75/L70 (the "Panther's" gun) somewhat to the detriment of the balance and suspension performance of the vehicle.

They later added steel bodie wheels to the first station in an effort to counter the supension problems.
