You are correct. Remains to be seen if there are still any TEC adjustments for units on hills. They have also applied the "1/2 the distance" rule for lower elevation spotting.

This is another one that has changed. Increased chance of hitting your own guys as well as with a greater lethality. Watch out where you put those 56 BF shots. Sad

It seems weird. German's/American's/British add 1 but it hits on a 2-5. So if a 1 were rolled the Germans would have a hit but French on a 1 would not? I guess on the flip side the Germans would miss on a 5 but the French would hit.

De Broglie's Ph.D. thesis was only twice as long: http://aflb.ensmp.fr/LDB-oeuvres/De_Brog...klauer.pdf

If I'm looking at this right there is no advantage for the Germans/Americans/British... the number that hits just moves. They would have FF hit on a 1-4 and the others would hit on a 2-5. Both hit 4 in 6.

There would be an advantage for the G/A/B in on board fire with LOS to the target. Then it would be +2 and they would only hit on a die roll of 1-3 while non G/A/B would hit on a 1-4. Maybe that was the intent.

Couple things to note, first you are now rolling 2d6 rather than 1d6, "If friendly units occupy a hex adjacent to a hex targeted for bombardment, the owning player rolls two dice for each such hex". Second add one to the result of the diceroll, so a 5 becomes a six effectively and so the roll will be between 2 and 4.

What changes is the hit percentage 10/36 for standard roll down to 3/36 for self spot and G/A/B as well as the the rolling of the damage on the same firepower column.

Doh, I missed it changed to 2d6. Thanks. Smile

RE: 4th Edition rules are up
Are you sure it's an increased chance to hit with FF? If I'm doing this right (adding up the %'s for getting a 2, 3, 4 and 5) there is about a 27% chance to hit on a 2-5. On a 1-2 on a single die it's a 33% chance.

G/A/B was about a 17% chance (1/6) and now it's about a 16.7% so the same.

G/A/B self spotting is about 8.3%. Non about 17%.

So... less chance to hit but hits for full value when it does?
