RE: Bombardment Chart - Example
Hmm... Reconquista.....
you have an interesting take on the comments of others....
I think you need to review your "chip on shoulder" before espousing in the future...

Being clear is of critical importance....doing it gently is the initial approach.
Clarifying with examples follows when understanding does not blossom....
Gently tends to wither when understanding of what should be clear is unfound, perhaps not even sought, over many ventures into the open forum

If the water is too rough for you....the shore is a safe place to watch those who would sail into waters of the rules lawyer...
I don't think anything I typed was either rude, or even ungracious...
You may disagree---but you'd still be wrong....

I'll throw a wrench grenade into this convo:

The 7.62 example has this little clause in it: "(always take the worst case)."   In Tank Dino's OP, both Xs would be applied, because the second X is "the worst case."

The example you pulled that from uses the example of taking an M2 instead of an M1, because a different combat result was an X. Its not directly applicable to the example in this thread of which there was disagreement on how to handle it. The example text would still read "always take the worst (applicable) case", and the nature of what an applicable case is what we spent days? weeks? whatever keyboard mashing over.

I'm not getting back into that fight again, by my opinion has not changed on which result is applicable. Afterall, reading that line in the example text without inserting "applicable" would result in no need for split column resolution at all, as the highest net modifier would always be worse, and thus the CRT result.

I'm crawling back in my hole now.
