New Player Wanted?????

Hello All,
I have never I think posted before and I am unsure of how matchmaking works. I really would like to play some head to head via Vassal or Cyberboard. Does anyone still do that here? If so how do I get started. I did the throw down the Gauntlet but no responses in 2 weeks. I will play anything I just want to play.
