Mike B. just replied to my email about the VASSAL mod, saying he thought it was a good idea and that he'd send the requisite artwork over in a couple of weeks.

Let's all cross our fingers and hope he follows through!

But if I cross my fingers it makes it hard to play...

I'm about to land the landing party on Green Beach (#2). Once again, this is an awesome addition to the PG world. I could end up playing every scenario out of Saipan. That would be a first for me.

Not sure if Shad is stuck in an airport between China and the US. Confused

But in his absence, I will announce that Saipan is ready for AAR's. Smile

Also, Jay's clarification and errata will be posted as well but we need to wait for Shad.

Thanks for all your hard work Alan!

3 miles not 30 miles! I noticed the introductory for scenario #36: Shifting The Lines, states 30 miles between Tinian & Saipan which is incorrect, as it only 3 miles.

I am very pleased with Saipan. It offers a lot of new type of actions to PG: Amphibious Landings, Cave counters, all kinds of new counter types and some of the coolest maps around. The Sherman Tank is King on Saipan but not master of the battlefield as the Japanese have a lot of dangerous assets. The New art work for the M3/75s and the Shinhotos is outstanding. The big guns, the armored APC and AFV amphibious vehicles, the new Infantry types and so on, just draws me to wanting to play more, and I thought I would grow tired of it, after spending so much time designing it but not at all. It helped me to create even better scenarios for the future. So if you want to treat yourself to a lot of PG fun for the Holidays, I can recommend Saipan and I am not trying to blow my own horn here, I just know it is an excellent product. More to come!

Kind of interesting, that the Japanese could still stage these type of air-raids this late in the war:
