Golden Journal game names - plloyd1010 - 12-10-2020

At the moment there are 5 Golden Journal games named for their release day. Those are Aphelion 2015, Columbus Day 2015, Dog Days 2016, Equinox 2015 & Ground Hog Day 2016. I am proposing renaming some or all of them to something more "PG appropriate".

My suggestions are:
Aphelion 2015 to Police Action
Columbus Day 2015 to The Last Horse Soldier
Dog Days 2016 to Germany's Colonial Empire or Imperial Germany in New Guinea)
Equinox 2015 to Armor Saipan
Ground Hog Day 2016 to The Other (Not!) Panthers or Variant Panthers

I always wanted to use the name of the article, not the release day.  I considered using the release date to be like calling the recent S&T magazine game Nov-Dec 2020 instead of Italian-Ottoman War 1911-1912.

I agree with most of your titles, but I'd use the article title in all cases (the names that are already on the games' pages and the Library Games Page thumbnails):
Germany's Colonial Empire (Dog Days 2016)
Riflemen of Saipan (Equinox 2015)
The Skoda Panther (Ground Hog Day 2016)

My two cents, anyway.

Good ideas !

Peter your names are good:

Aphelion 2015 to Police Action
Columbus Day 2015 to The Last Horse Soldier
Dog Days 2016 to Germany's Colonial Empire or Imperial Germany in New Guinea)
Equinox 2015 to Armor Saipan
Ground Hog Day 2016 to Variant Panthers

Equinox 2015, Riflemen of Saipan is no longer valid are the Marine counters are now standard in the current Saipan games printed and shipped but Armor Saipan is good, as you can only get these counters and scenario from Equinox 2015 to Armor Saipan.

I agree with Robin.

My problems with your suggestions, though not necessarily stoppers.
Germany's Colonial Empire: Imperial Germany had holdings Africa and China, and presumably could have more by the 2nd Great War. on the other hand, Imperial Germany in New Guinea sounds a little clumsy.
Riflemen of Saipan: While this is the title of the f1st article in the Golden Journal, the scenarios are in the 2nd article called Armor on Saipan. The section with the scenarios has the unhighlighted title of Tank Battles on Saipan
.The Skoda Panther: That name does sound more romantic than Variant Panthers, but the counters and scenario suggestions are also about the Daimler-Benz panther.

I wasn't going to change anything until next week
