Literally "sea battalion", is a German term for certain troops of naval infantry or marines. The navy was considered "German" as opposed to army, which distinguished itself along the lines of the older kingdoms (Prussian, Bavarian, Saxon and Württemberg).

I would have called it IV Seebataillon or something similar. I Seebataillon was based in Kiel.
